Canta is a California-based hotel developer with nearly 25 years of global experience specializing in Hospitality, Mixed Use, Commercial and Multi-family properties. She is well-versed in the Development and Construction of various hotel projects from boutique, select service, full service, and resorts.
She began her career with the Kor Group where she grew her skillset in “Complete” Project Development. She then founded her own company, A.F. Canta, in 2005, where she built a noteworthy portfolio of projects across the globe including the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel and The Montage in Laguna Beach, CA.

Canta is an active member of the ALIS planning committee and ALIS Design Plus advisory board. She is an award-winning thought leader, having spoken at panels discussing cutting-edge issues impacting the hospitality industry including green design and the effect of marijuana legalization on building practices. She was awarded “Best of Hospitality Development & Construction” by the City of Newport Beach, CA in 2015, 2016 & 2017.
She holds a degree in International Computer Studies from Saztec IT Centre London based in Manila Philippines and an Associates in Nursing from St. Paul College of Manila. She also studied Real Estate Development and Construction in Project Management at University of California, Irvine.
Inspired by her father, Canta is passionate about giving back to the community. She continuously serves in hospitality industry charity groups and is a Eucharistic Minister at her community church.
